The swing is based on the keyframes of a specific layer. You can select this layer in the settings "Swing - General Settings". Alternatively, you can set the driver to any layer from any comp by using this tool. When you press this tool a small window will pop-up allowing you to select a comp and secondly a layer within that comp.
You can shift + left-click this tool to connect your rig to a wind null. This will open a popout which allows you to select a comp that has a wind null inside, and then select the null within that comp. Your wind settings will now be controlled by the wind null instead of your rig.
A wind null has to be created before you can connect a rig to it. If you don't have a wind null you will not be able to select a comp or a wind null. Create a wind null here
